Membership of the Society
Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in our club's objectives, whether or not a Burmese cat or indeed any cat, shares their home. This includes people living interstate, or indeed overseas. Any overseas new member joining will pay the same membership fee as for interstate members.
You can download our membership form, print it out and send it to us with your payment and become a member today. If you have any problems downloading the form, either contact us by email (see Contact us) or mail your name and address to Burmese Cat Society of Australasia and we will post you an application form.
Our financial and membership years end on 31 March each year.
New South Wales Cat Fanciers Association Inc is our governing body and our Code of Ethics has been adopted from them. If you wish to view this Code, please click on the link below.
The Animal Welfare Code of Practise - Breeding Cats and Dogs, contains important information for our breeder members. For the NSW CFA Inc preamble to this Code, please visit NSW CFA Inc website article "About The Code".
We remind all our members, that they are bound by our Code of Ethics. The code was updated in November, 2014 and all our breeder members in particular should familiarise themselves with it. It was updated to reflect recognition of the issues surrounding holding queens off for long periods of time before mating.
Microchipping of Kittens
*** Please note that the requirement to have kittens microchipped by 12 weeks of age is an Office of Local Government initiative. This requirement applies to all cat breeders in NSW, regardless of their affiliated bodies.
